GREA President's Project for 2023 - 24 - Totes to Tots
This year's GREA President is Joe Boland. Joe's project for the 2023-24 year is Totes to Tots. To support the president's project, the Henry County Retired Educators Association will hope to raise $525 for this project. Please donate to Totes to Tots HERE. Scholarships Available
As HCREA members we have the opportunity to promote our Scholarship Program by sharing information regarding the application process with persons we know who might be eligible.
All applications with supporting documentation are due to the Scholarship Committee no later than May 1st. Download the application form for information on submitting.
- A $750 Scholarship is available to assist the advanced college student seeking initial teacher certification. Applicants must reside in Henry County and be currently enrolled in an approved teacher certification program.
- Who can apply? Paraprofessionals, substitute teachers, HCS non-certified personnel and college students within two years of completing a planned program leading to initial teacher certification
- Deadline? All applications with supporting documentation are due to the Scholarship Committee no later than May 1st.

- A $750 Scholarship is offered to the certified professional educator who is seeking an advanced degree. Applicants must reside in Henry County and have been accepted into a graduate program leading to an advanced degree.
- Who can apply? Teachers, counselors, administrators, psychologists, social workers, etc.
- Deadline? All applications with supporting documentation are due to the Scholarship Committee no later than May 1st

- A $500 Scholarship is available to a deserving high school senior planning to pursue a college career in education. Applicants must reside in Henry County and be a graduating senior from an accredited high school.
- Who can apply? High school seniors who are planning a college career in education

Spotlight Sponsors
A Spotlight Sponsor, previously call a Spotlight Ad, supports the HCREA Scholarship Program (see information above). A Spotlight Sponsor can be a business ad or a personal ad.
- A business ad can be purchased for a mere $50 and will advertise a business on the GREA website for the world to view and in the GREA mailed bulletin that goes out to over 20,000 retired educators.
- A personal ad can also be purchased for $50 and can be IN HONOR OF or IN MEMORY OF a loved one, friend, educator, ... just anyone you wish to be remembered in a special way
Volunteer Log Sheets
.Henry County retired educators volunteer in many ways in the community with service organizations, at hospitals and other health facilities, at schools, with non-profit organizations and churches, and with organizations that services seniors to name a few. HCREA members should keep a log sheet of their volunteer work and turn in the log sheet to Barbara Calhoun each spring. Click here to download the Volunteer Log Sheet in Word or PDF format.
